DAMAN, Henrietta
Henrietta Burges Daman was born at Barton-upon-Irwell, Manchester on 19 July 1922, daughter of Charles Walter Burges Daman (30 May 1893-1951), a civil engineer, and his wife Muriel Edith Marion Montgomery née Moore (12 September 1896-1984), who married at Chertsey, Surrey in 1921. Young Henrietta published in 1936 a short story 'The Haunted Snail Shell' and in 1937 a ballad 'A Small Error' and in 1942 obtained her B.A. at the Faculty of Arts at Sheffield University. In 1939, 'at school', living at Llwyn Ynn, Ruthin, Denbighshire and she later married a Mr Miller. Henrietta Burges Miller was a member of the Ipswich Art Club from 1969 and exhibited from Brook Cottage, Gosbeck, Ipswich in 1979, three pictures 'On the Estate', 'Cat Asleep' and 'Cat Dreaming' and one picture the following year 'Stairs Down'. Henrietta Burges Miller died at Brook Cottage, Gosbeck, Ipswich on 15 September 1980.
