CONLAN, Eileen
As Eileen Thirkell, she was born at Bolton, Lancashire on 5 March 1905, daughter of John Thirkell, a hairdresser, and his wife Gertrude née Brookfield, who married at Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 1896. In 1911, Eileen was living at 60 St George's Road, Bolton with her parents, 42-year-old John and 38-year-old Gertrude and her sibling sister, 18-year-old Gertrude Margarite. Eileen married at Bolton in 1927, Fred Brooks Conlan (25 November 1899-1956), a wine & spirit merchant. In 1939, they were living at 103 Eastbury Road, Watford, Hertfordshire. A member of the Ipswich Art Club 1968-1973 and exhibited from 11 Kemsley Road, Felixstowe, Suffolk in 1967, watercolours 'Christmas Roses' and 'At Felixstowe Ferry', in 1968 'The Farmyard', in 1969 'Still Life', in 1971 'Spring Morning' and her last exhibit was in 1972 'Bird and Blossom'. Eileen Conlan died at 11 Kemsley Road, Felixstowe on 31 December 1973.
