YOUNG, Daisy Florence Chilton
As Daisy Florence Hammond, she was born at Ipswich on 27 September 1897 and baptised at St Helen's Church, Ipswich on 14 November 1897, daughter of Robert Charles Hammond (13 May 1876-1950), an insurance agent's clerk, and his wife Eliza née Glover (27 December 1872-12 June 1960), who married at Ipswich in 1895 and in 1939, Robert was a commercial clerk for a mineral water manufacturer, living at 220 Felixstowe Road, Ipswich with his wife and a daughter Violet. In 1901, Daisy was a 3-year-old, living at 7 Tomline Road, Ipswich with her parents, 24-year-old Robert and 28-year-old Eliza, with 5-year-old sibling Violet Ethel and were in the same situation in 1911. Daisy married at Ipswich in 1926, Percy Chilton Young (3 March 1901-1964), a policeman, and as Mrs D. Chilton Young, a member and exhibitor at the Ipswich Art Club 1926-1970 and exhibited from The Cottage, Bradfield, Manningtree, Essex in 1927, an oil 'Ragmarsh, Bradfield' and two watercolours 'Anemones' and 'Marigolds' and was a regular exhibitor including in 1932, watercolours 'Marigolds', 'Nasturtiums', 'Polyanthus' and 'Pansies and Viola', in 1933 from 'Lamorna', Bradfield, Essex two watercolour 'Flowers from a Cottage Garden' and 'Evening Stocks', in 1935 from Ockleford Avenue, Chelmsford, three watercolours 'Pansies', 'Sweet Peas' and 'The Mill by the Sea' and in 1937 'Spring Flowers' and a watercolour 'Marigolds'. In 1939 Daisy was still living at 7 Ockelford Avenue, Chelmsford with her police constable husband Percy and two children. Daisy Florence Young died at 84 Kenneth Street, Inverness on 19 December 1969.
