1855 - 1926

Olivia Chevallier, was born at Rushmere St Andrew, near Ipswich on 14 April and baptised on 17 June 1855, daughter of Clement Chevallier (1819-1892), and his wife Jane Susanna (1821-1922, aged 102). A member of the Ipswich Art Club in 1879 and in 1883 she exhibited a sculpture (583a) ‘Water Lily’ and a 'Persian Plaque' (588a). She married at Rushmere, Ipswich in 1885, Revd John Mayhew Clarkson (1852-16 June 1912) and in 1901, the 45 year old wife of 49 year old clergyman John Clarkson, was living at The Street, Brington-with-Bythorne, Huntingdonshire with three of their five children, Olivia Chevallier 14, Lorina Susanna 12 and Thomas Chevallier 2. Her husband, who was rector of Brington-with-Bythorne and Old Weston, died in 1912, aged 60 and Olivia died at Trimley St Mary, Felixstowe, Suffolk on 17 March 1926, aged 70.
