KING, Geoffrey
Geoffrey Henry King was born at Pin Mill, Ipswich in 1941, his mother's maiden name was Clark. Geoffrey studied at Ipswich School of Art 1956-1957, under Colin Moss and Bernard Reynolds, leaving the Art School to run the family boatbuilding business, but continued to draw and paint boats and the Orwell estuary in his leisure time. A member of Ipswich Art Club from 1961, winning the Anna Airy award and exhibited from Brickyard House, Pin Mill, Ipswich in 1990, 'Jug and Ship' and in 1997 exhibited 'Barcelona'. An artist in a variety of media and had several exhibitions including John Russell Gallery and Haste Gallery, both in Ipswich; St Gregory's Centre for the Arts, Norwich and Clock House Arts at Snape also showing at Pin Mill Studio. He married in 1963, Yvonne A. Ramsey and they later moved to Earsham, Bungay, Suffolk, Earsham is actually in Norfolk.
