GREEN, Gill
As Gillian Black, she was born in London on 25 November 1930, daughter of Albert Edward Black (7 April 1897-2 May 1951), a thermometer & scientific instrument maker, and his wife Grace Mary née Seeley (30 June 1894-1990), who married at Islington in 1926 and in 1939 were living at 22 Uphill Grove, Hendon, London. Gillian studied at Hornsey College of Art under Jesse Dale Cast (1900-1976). She married at Battle, Sussex in 1956, artist David Green and works under the name of Gill Green and in 1990 they moved to Suffolk. Gill has exhibited widely with her husband, including at Heffer Gallery in Cambridge; Century Gallery, 47 Friday Street, Henley-on-Thames; Rye Art Gallery; Piers Feetham Gallery in Aldeburgh, Suffolk; Wigmore Hall and elsewhere.
