Eugene Citovich

Eugene Catalina Citovich was born in Russia on 31 March 1890, his birth date is sometimes incorrectly given a 31 November 1890. An engineer, living at 58 Carlton Road, London N7 1951-1957 and about 1958 moved to 11 Quilter Road, Felixstowe, Suffolk but by 1974 had moved to 18 Manor Terrace, Felixstowe. He made several visits to Portugal and to the Canary Islands during 1950-1970 when listed as an 'alien' or 'stateless' but was of 58 Carlton Road, London N 7 in 1953 when he applied for English naturalisation. He married in Italy as her second husband Enid Sarah Kortright Baldry, who was born in Kensington, London on 3 April 1902, daughter of William Frank Baldry (1855-1944) and his wife Helena Mary née Kortright (1866-1942), Helena had been born in Felixstowe and had married William Baldry at London City in 1900. Edith's first husband was Harold Walsby who she had married at St Pancras, London in 1935. Both Eugene and Enid painted in oils and were members of the Deben Art Group. Eugine was the author of 'Selections from Russian Poetry' (1976). Eugene Catalina Citovich died on 19 June 1975 and buried in Felixstowe Cemetery and Enid Sarah Kortright Citovich died at Ipswich on 25 November 1985 and also buried at Felixstowe. He is sometimes listed as Eugine Citovich.
