Myrtle Beale

As Myrtle A. MacArthur, she married in London in 1962, John E. M. Beale and paints under the name of Myrtle Beale. Myrtle has been a keen painter since her schooldays and later in life owned a gallery and a frame workshop, giving her the chance to meet other artists who helped develop her painting skills. Myrtle's work is varied, painting in acrylic, water colour or oil and enjoys experimenting with various mediums and has particular interest in the surface and textures of paintings. Her pictures range from landscapes to semi-abstracts inspired by flowers, the world of nature, her imagination, and a love of vivid colours. She lives in Saxmundham, Suffolk and has exhibited at Seizmond Gallery, Saxmundham.
