John Ridger

John Loton Ridger, was born at Reigate, Surrey in November 1920, son of Arthur Loton Ridger (3 January 1886-1940), a merchant, and his wife Veronica née Hynam (born 30 June 1889), who married at Paddington, London in 1920 and in 1939 were living at 98 Anderton Park Road, Birmingham when his father was in Camberwell House Mental Hospital, Peckham Road, Camberwell, London. In 1924, together with his 38 year old father and 35 year old mother, when of Barn Hill, Stamford, they sailed from Bristol on the 'Cavina' for British Honduras. A retired headmaster and a Friend at Ipswich Art Society, he exhibited from Dove Yard, Tacon Close, Eye, Suffolk in 2006, two oil paintings 'Still Life with Water' and 'Aging Sunflowers' and was a founder member and exhibitor of the Eye Arts Guild. He married secondly in the Depwade district of Suffolk in 1992, Cynthia M. May [q.v.]. He died on 9 February 2016, being survived by his wife and children. [The Time in Between (2014)].
