SLEIGH, Joan Isabel
As Joan Isabel Moore, she was born at Chippenham, Wiltshire on 8 September 1914, second daughter of Dr Reginald Mark Moore (10 October 1883-28 January 1947), a G.P., and his wife Emma May née Adams (born 7 September 1886), who married at Halwill Parish Church, Holsworthy, Devon on 17 July 1912. Joan married at Chippenham, Wiltshire in 1942, Ralph Harding Sleigh (25 February 1911-28 August 1994), a RAF Squadron Leader, second son of Arthur Benson Adie Sleigh of Great Barton, Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk. As Joan Sleigh, she exhibited a pastel at the Bury St Edmund's Art Society held at the School of Art Building, Cornhill, Bury St Edmund's in 1948 and was an associate member of the Ipswich Art Club in 1973 and exhibited from 1 Mill House, Stanningfield, Bury St Edmund's, an oil painting 'Appiani II' and a watercolour 'Californian Tree Poppy'. Joan Isabel Sleigh died at Mill House, Stanningfield, Bury St Edmund's on 28 November 1982 and her husband died at Hill House on 28 August 1994.
