1855 - 1939

As Lucy Meller, she was born at Woodbridge, Suffolk in 1855 and baptised at Woodbridge on 28 January 1855, third child of Revd [Fred] Thomas William Meller (28 September 1808-27 January 1871), perpetual curate, later rector of Woodbridge since 1844, and his wife Emma Edwards (1819-1903), eldest daughter of William Edwards of Framlingham, who married at Framlingham, Suffolk on 9 February 1847. In 1861, a 6 year old, living at Seckford Street, Woodbridge with her parents, 52 year old Thomas and 41 year old Emma, and three siblings, Agnes 13, Alfred 11 and Frank 1, and retained a governess and four house servants. Lucy married at St Margaret's Church, Ipswich on 18 April 1877, Theodore Barker (1844-1878), a solicitor of Gray's Inn, who died at Bournemouth, Hampshire on 20 November the following year, aged 34, and in 1881, 26 year old Lucy was a widow living at 13 Upperton Road, Eastbourne with her 2 year old daughter Katherine, born Surbiton, Surrey. She married secondly at All Saints' Church, Eastbourne on 22 August 1882, as his second wife, Revd James Harley Usill (1829-1884) who died two years later on 15 December 1884 and in 1891, Lucy was a 36 year old widow living at Fulbourne Lodge, Meads Road, Eastbourne with her 12 year old daughter Katherine, keeping four indoor servants. She married for a third time at Woodbridge, Suffolk 24 September 1891, Revd Henry Lawrence Randall and they had a son, Gerald Frayne Randall, born at Eastbourne in 1893. In 1911, a 56 year old, living at The Vicarage, Cocking, Midhurst, Sussex with her 56 year old husband and 17 year old son, keeping five indoor servants. A member of the Ipswich Art Club 1911-1923 exhibiting from Cocking Vicarage in 1911, three paintings 'FitGerald's Walk, Bredfield, Suffolk', 'Evening-Sands End, Yorkshire' and 'Charlton, Goodwood, Sussex' and was a regular exhibitor exhibiting until 1921 when she exhibited three pictures, 'Woodbridge from Sutton Hard', 'After the Heat of the Day, Sussex Downs' and 'Lane in Guernsey'. Her husband died at Cocking Rectory, Midhurst, Sussex on 22 October 1926, aged 71 and Lucy died at Westmoor, Tillington, Petworth, Sussex on 22 May 1939, aged 84.
